Dresden Plate - Barbara Protheroe. Made in 1936 by the friendly Circle of the Diamond Hill Methodist Church in Cos Cob, CT. Presented to Jane Protheroe the Minister's wife for her many services.

Clam Shell - submitted by Evelyn Urda, made by Ellen Bennett Welch, pieced in 1861. Ellen was married in 1862 to Merritt Welch. Her brother died in the Civil War 2 years later. Perhaps this was a patriotic dowery quilt, reflecting the concerns of the times.

The quilt on the Home Page is of the "Ashford Oak", by Lesley Gebbie, submitted by Jean Alcorn. "I asked by daughter, Lesley, to design a quilt indicative of Ashford. The Ashford Oak is represented in her original design and was donated to the Ashford Senior Citizens Organization in 2000."

Our First Quilt Show, "A Garden of Quilts" was held on June 9 and 10, 2001.
